Le Grand Départ

Après cinq bonnes journées de ski, il est temps de faire mes valises. Je pars pour la Suisse demain, direction St Moritz pour la deuxième compétition FWQ 4* : Engadinsnow.

Le voyage ne s’arrêtera pas là, je me dirigerai ensuite vers Munich pour l’ISPO, passage obligatoire dans mon programme universitaire. Le trip se terminera en Autriche, pour un autre contest, le Bigmountain Hochfugen, FWQ 4*.

Je quitte donc la France pour deux semaines de Road Trip, accompagnée de ma compatriote, Chloe Roux-Mollard, skieuse prometteuse.

J’ai eu très peu de cours dernièrement ce qui m’a permis de profiter de nos belles montagnes. Je suis donc allée faire un tour à Flaine, pour une journée ensoleillée ou mon « guide » m’a emmené chercher les pentes les moins tracées. Ensuite, retour à la maison pour profiter du soleil dans un premier temps, puis d’une chute de neige de 20cm. Que demander de plus !!!

Time to travel

After 5 days riding intensively, it’s time to pack. I’am leaving tomorrow, I will be heading to Switzerland for the next 4* event of the FWQ, holding in Engadin-St Moritz.

The trip will not stop there; I will go then to Munich for ISPO, mandatory stop for my school program. To finish, I will hit the road again, to Austria, for an other FWQ, 4* event, the BigMountain Hochfugen.

I’am though leaving France for a two weeks Road Trip along the Alps, with a French skier, Chloe Roux-Mollard, strong skier on the FWQ.

Having a light school schedule lately, I enjoyed having free time to visit a friend in Flaine. We had great weather and my ‘guide” brought me in one of the only spot still not tracked on the resort. Then it was time to come back home to enjoy the sun and a fresh snowfall in la Clusaz.

Les conditions d'enneigement pour cet événement 4* ne pouvaient pas être meilleures; 40cm de neige fraiche étant tombée la veille. En revanche le format de compétition change,  un seul run, une journée ( au lieu d'un jour qualificatif et d'un jour de finale). Une autre face est choisie, plus courte, moins impressionnante que celles prévues initialement, mais tout aussi agréable à skier. 

Courir à domicile m'aura réussi puisque je termine 4eme. Un résultat qui, je l'espère, me permettra d'accéder aux compétitions majeures du FWQ en Europe.

Ayant tiré un des premiers dossards, j'ai fini la compétitions relativement tôt ce qui m'a permis de profiter de la neige le restant du week-end ainsi que de faire découvrir le domaine de Balme a Lorraine Hubber, la gagnante de cette édition. 

Et encore félicitations à Mickael Bijasson, pour sa victoire chez les hommes.

Prochaine étape dans deux semaines, Engadin, St Moritz, Suisse.

We had great conditions for the first major event of the season, 40 cm of fresh snow. Regarding the snow conditions, the format of the competition been changes, different face and a single day event, one run (instead of a 2 days event, qualification and final). 

I finish 4th, a good beginning for the season. Hopefully it will allow me to access all the major events of the FWQ in Europe.

The draw gave me one of the first start number, 6, that permitted me,my run done, to enjoy the fresh snow and show the Balme area to Lorraine Hubber, a great person, winner of the contest.

Congratulations again to Mickael Bijasson, winner in the men category. 

Next stop in two weeks at Engadin, St Moritz, Switzerland.
