Verbier, Chamonix, Hochfugen-Austria

Je trouve enfin un moment pour revenir sur ce début de saison ou les trips s'enchainent. J'était d'abord à Verbier pour le lancement le saison FWQ. Une belle mise en jambe avec de beaux résultats, 3 podiums en 3 competitions. Attention on ne s'emballe pas, elles étaient mineures, le chemin reste long. Vous avez déjà dû entendre parler de mes résultats parlons donc un peu des ''à coté''.

I finally find a moment to come back on the last few weeks of travelling. I was in Verbier for the first FWQ events of the season. A good warm up and nice results with 3 podiums in 3 competitions. Let's stay realistic they were minor contest and the road is still long. You probably already saw the results so let's take some time to see what happened ''behind the scene''.

Les compétitions sont une bonne raison pour aller passer une semaine, presque 10 jours, dans cette station mythique qu'est Verbier. Après un début de saison compliqué à cause de l'enneigement il était agréable de skier quelques couloirs et des pentes un peu plus raides. Merci Elizabeth Gerritzen et Adrien Truwant pour le guiding tour. C'est aussi l'occasion de retrouver tout les riders du FWQ et les potes rencontrés au travers de mes différents voyages. J'ai eu de très belle surprise et j'ai vu des personnes dont je n'avais pas croisé la route depuis de nombreuses années. Trêve de sentimentalisme la suite en image.

Competition are the perfect opportunity to spend 10 days in this incredible resort that is Verbier. After a winter start pretty poor in snow it was enjoyable to ski some couloirs and steeper lines. Thanks Elizabeth Gerritzen and Adrien Truwant for the guiding tour. It is also this time of the season we start to see again the familiar faces of the FWQ athletes and also many people I had the occasion to meet during my travels.  I had  nice surprises and saw some friends I haven't cross the roads from many years. The big family of travelers and skiers.  Let's stop the sentimentalism and look at some pictures.

After Verbier I decided to stop on the road to see old friends from highschool in Chamonix. Thanks to them I had the opportunity to do my first touring day of the year.

Pour finir, je viens tout juste de rentrer d'Autriche où se déroulais la première étape 4* du Qualifier. Je termine 2nd, un premier résultat important qui confirme la lancée de Verbier. 

Un mois de Janvier au top.

I just came back from Austria where took place the first FWQ 4* event. I finish second , a first important result that confirm the Verbier ones. On other words I just had an awesome January month.

Next stop Livigno, Italia and Engadin-St Moritz, Switzerland for 4* FWQ events.

Let's the season start

L'hiver se met enfin en place. Après avoir passé une bonne partie de l'automne à mettre un point final à mes études. Ce qui est d'ailleurs chose faite, je peux enfin me consacrer à 100% au ski.

Winter is finally coming. I spent most of fall writing my professional thesis to put an end to my studies.  Now that's done I can finally focus 100% on skiing.

N'ayant pas eu la patience d'attendre l'ouverture de la Clusaz (21 décembre), je suis d'abord allée  chercher la neige dans une station un peu plus haute: Val-Thorens, le 20 Décembre dernier. Ne pouvant pas franchement sortir des pistes (c'était pas franchement bon), nous avons découvert le domaine au cours de la journée. Merci Mégane pour les photos.

I didn't quite had the patience to wait for the opening of La Clusaz (my home resort) and chose to go to Val-Thorens which is higher. We weren't able to go off-slopes (it wasn't really good) and decided to discover the resort as I previously never been there.  Special thanks to Mégane for the pics.

Puis j'ai repris mes habitudes à la Clusaz en enchainant les journées pour reprendre les sensations, renforcer les jambes et m'entrainer pour la saison à venir. Il manque toujours un peu de neige mais nous restons positif, ''tout vient à point à qui sait attendre''.

Then I got back on my habits in la Clusaz and kept on skiing to get back my sensations, strengthen my legs and train for the coming FWQ season. We are still expecting the snow as the base is really thin but I always stay positive. It will come in time.

Les premieres étapes du Qualifier vont arriver assez rapidement. Je serai sur Verbier pour deux étapes 2* et une étape 3* du 12 au 18 Janvier.

The first Qualifier competition will comme quickly. I will be in Verbier for 2 events 2* and a 3* one in between the 12 and 18th of January.
